CNI’s keystone nature education programs provide children from birth to age eight with an experiential learning environment. Through our three-part Nature Discovery Program (NDP) we provide direct educational experiences to children during their most impressionable years: Pre K to 3rd grade. It is designed to fill two critical gaps in elementary school education in LA County: Insufficient learning opportunities and inadequate exposure to the natural world.
NDP is led by our expert Environmental Educators and includes a visit from our WonderMobile with live animals and natural artifacts; a Nature Walk in an urban wilderness park; and an Urban Nature Hunt around a school or urban environment.
This program, including a bus to the field trip, is available for free to schools that have a 70% or higher enrollment in the federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program.
Want to bring CNI to your school? See if your school qualifies here and fill out an application (link to NDP application).
If your school does not qualify, we’re happy to bring our programming to schools for a small fee, the proceeds from which provide more free programming to communities and schools in need.
